no need to complicate
for some reason, a feeling has came back. a feeling that is borderline good and bad. good in the fact that i'm presented with smiles and a breath of fresh air. bad in the fact that it's bringing out the girly side of me. the side that i'm not too proud of when i start wandering into my thoughts a wee bit too much when the answers to most of my questions are simple. i'm trying my best to stay on the positive side because thinking else way (that's probably grammatically incorrect, but it works for me) takes a shot at confidence. and confidence shouldn't be decreased in any woman's mindset. someone had told me "can you just accept a compliment, damn it?!" i can, but the retarded part of that is that i can't either.
I've met some dumbasses in this past year... quite a few of them, actually. Most of whom I thought I needed, but found out that they weren't exactly what I wanted. Handing me half-ass lines or taking advantage of my kindness and mistaking it to patch up their old wounds but never knowing what they wanted in life. After acknowledging that fact, it helped me gain knowledge of what I really wanted and most importantly deserved. keyword: deserved. I'm young, I know that. I have time, I know that. It was easy to let the dummies go, actually. They just didn't seem to work in my book. They weren't characters fit to play the part.
But then what happens when the tide changes? Can't quite put my finger on what it is, but after having a repetitive streak of strikeouts someone actually hits one out of the park. Interesting thought. See, this is me being girly in my "quirky", unique, and random way. And this blog probably only makes sense to me and a select few. Ah well, that's why they're blogs. just how i see it... Enjoy the vid.

video of the moment: enjoy!
Fonzworth Bentley feat. Kanye, Sa-Ra, & Andre 3000
"don't stop"
now, this is cute. well, at least i think it's cute. from the suits to the choreography, you have to love it.
really, =) , really!?
i'm taking this as it comes along. unexpected, which led me to this song. somehow new, yet comfortable. a friend whose company i enjoy, laughs i share, and smiles i exchange.
these are the moments that you breathe in, close your eyes and exhale.
yea, it's like that.
well, what can you do? (shrugging shoulders)
just "bask in the sexy" while "showing some love".

live and learn
so i found this list that i wrote back in 2006 and posted on myspace. i decided to bring it back to the table. because i can. =)
live and learn
Current mood: thoughtful
Category: Life
These are things I've learned up until now.
Don't make someone else's problems your problems.
Remember that not everyone can be saved.
Know that when people do bad things they don't know any better, but hopefully they'll learn.
If they don't, that's (of course) their problem.
You can't please everybody.
You can't pinpoint the "right time". Things just happen.
Kill 'em with kindness. It works.
If it's there, it's there.
Expect the unexpected because things happen at random.
You don't have to explain yourself to anybody.
It is what it is. [i have to give this one a second thought because i've come to realize that i hate this quote. because saying it is taking whatever situation is at hand and leaving it as it is like nothing can be done and/or simply just giving up. now, if the case were that there is nothing at all possible to salvage whatever is at stake, then by all means... the quote or phrase shall stand.]
Life is too short, but we still have to pay bills.
Figure things out for yourself. Going off from someone else's opinion is a cop out.
Leave the past where it is. Live in the now. Look forward to the future.
Say please and thank you.
Plan ahead and have alternatives to avoid getting lost.
Some people take myspace seriously. A wee-bit too serious.
Sad? Do something about it.
Get your priorities straight. Some of us seem to be in need of re-arranging.
Have goals, because you'd have nothing to look forward to if you didn't.
Get some perspective. We can't be in boxes our whole lives, people.
It's ok to get a manicure/pedicure if you're a guy.
Do what YOU want to do because whatever the consequence you'll end up doing it anyway.
Why do people ask for advice but don't take it in? Because they don't need it, they're just using you to vent to.
Venting is good. Just not when it's over the same thing.
The truth only hurts if you keep ignoring it.
Be more open-minded and try new things; it wouldn't hurt.
Work hard, it pays off.
Avoid finding yourself in "I told you so" situations.
If you don't like something, don't put up with it. Because if you just "put up with it", then you actually do like it.
Good things happen to those who wait.
Be considerate in every possible way.
Know what you want.
It feels good to be happy.
Be respectful; you can't have respect for yourself if you can't respect others.
People make MISTAKES; we're only human.
Don't waste your breath if you've already said it over and over again.
But, if you do have something to say, then say it.
Don't hold it in. [pause]
Be civil.
Shit just sucks sometimes. [pause]
There's only so much we can do when friendships just fade away.
We're so caught up in ourselves that we almost always forget that there are bigger problems in the world than being mad at someone close to us.
train yourself to let go of everything you fear to lose. -Yoda
every experience is a learning experience.
there are two destinies to life: to live and to die.
you can't make everyone happy.
there will always be someone better.
anything and everything great and incredible in life are all worth waiting for.
sometimes we've got to be at the bottom to get to the top.
don't ever settle for 'good enough'.
focus on getting yourself where you want to be.
be fearless.
bring down your guard.
when you lose, you gain.
and when you gain, you lose?
there's a blessin' in every lesson.
when it's over, it's over...let it go.
love can last for eternity
lust can last for days
friendships can last forever
but heartbreak can hurt...always.
when you choose to fall in love, you sign your heart away.
if it wasn't love
then it was a lot like it
i know exactly what i want isn't what i need...
and that what i need isn't what i'm going for...
i stopped expecting anything...
because hope is an internal promise
that you decide for yourself.-ter
honesty is key.
lying by omission is still lying.

time spent
friends. how many of us have them? (sorry, i had to put that.) for some reason, i've found myself thinking of all the friendships i have had throughout my life so far. and as far as i know, friendships are learning processes. you meet people. you like them. you don't like them. you befriend some. and those that you befriend, you form a type of kinship with them. you can relate to them, be it that they share the same music that you do or on a serious note the same values and beliefs. unfortunately, there may be times where you may not be on the same page as them after years of knowing them. just like relationships with a boyfriend or girlfriend, friendships sail away too. some may sail away in a perfect storm while others just needed to walk away without negative intentions.
sucks when that happens, but what can you do?
i think i speak for everyone when i say "we all go through phases". but one phase in particular that i want to address, is how your time is spent as far as friendships go or relations with the opposite sex.
we all go through some type of relationship that fucks us up in the end. then in turn we analyze the time we spent and say "damn, i did this and this.. and stopped hanging out with my friends" yadda yadda and etc. etc. i can't knock it because i did it. i see and have seen my friends do it. i see other people trying to warn other friends of doing that (spending too much time with a certain person). but, being the understanding person that i am, i look at situations from all angles. or at least try to. if you enjoy someone's company and want to be with that person however many days out of the week, you're going to do so regardless of what anybody tells you. and, as much as i say this about any action. it's the truth. if you're going to jump because you want to jump and others tell you not to, you're not going to do it just to spite them (let's hope not). but you're more than likely going to do it because it feels right to you and you simply "want" to. nobody's holding a gun to your head (let's hope not).
every person that has gone through a relationship where they regret their time that they didn't evenly balance out with friends and their significant other has vowed to themselves of not repeating those "dark times". understandable. once again, a learning experience. i'm not one of those friends to tell a friend "hey dude. wtf?" because i'm not anyone to tell a friend how to spend their time. and i wouldn't expect someone to tell me the same thing. now, if i'm being ridiculous or retarded and my significant other is beating me and i'm using some lame excuse of "oh, i ran into the punch".. then PLEASE, step in.
i think i put it into my important things to remember to do list to make sure to balance my time spent with friends and my significant other. just going off past mistakes. it'll turn out beneficial though. stay humble with friends and cherish the time spent with your boo. see? it evens out. =)
