Allan Cohen

On my way back home from Seattle in January of this year, I had mad time to kill in the airport. I stopped in at Borders (genius idea, by the way, to have a bookstore in the airport). I kept looking around for books and since the majority of the time that I was in Seattle, the topic of dating and relationships arose quite frequently. I found the book Don't Get Lucky, Get SMART: Why your love life sucks and what you can do about it by Allan Cohen. I don't want to come off as needing a self-help book but I did find it interesting on what it had in store. I read a few chapters and decided to buy it. Before I boarded my flight, I read more than half of the book already. There goes my money, but I guess that's a good thing that it was a book I couldn't stop reading. Anyways, I barely cracked it open again and in a chapter it said:

-Don't curse the jerks for wasting your time. Instead, bless them for motivating you to move ahead.
-You don't need to quit dating or relationships because you had a bad experience. Use the experience to finetune and eliminate the parts that didn't work so that you'll be ready for the next time around.
-Make a "Required" and "Preferred" list and stick to it.
-Every dating experience falls into two categories: 1) to be enjoyed 2)to be learned from.
-Make space for someone who can meet you with a whole heart.



I'm sure the things he writes in this book are things that we know, but for those who don't know, you SHOULD know. I'm just glad there was actually someone who wrote a book about it. Check it out if you're bored at Borders or Barnes & Noble. And, if you see Fonzworth Bentley's book anywhere, please direct me to it.

so i bought this book entitled The Everything Love Signs Book by Jenni Kosarin. Straight to the point. How to seduce a prospect based on astrological characteristics. Silly, but interesting.

wednesday:
-wake up at 10am
-don't start packing until 11:30am
-get ready and leave at 1:45pm
-get to the airport at 2:30pm
-check in snowboard + 2 bags
-say goodbye to sister =(
-take off at 4:20pm
-watch sunset on the aeroplano with this rich, old man sitting in the next seat over
-knock out for a few seconds only to get yelled at by the stewardess who has my orange juice in her hand
-land in san jose for a bit
-looked out the window to see the snowy mountains in oregon
-fly in seattle at 8:20pm
-get picked up by sheena, jenna, and janelle
-head to IMO sushi... sounds like EMO
-get a drink and eat a couple sushi rolls with the girls, Andrew, and Mike
-head to Wasabi Bistro... get dessert (mmmmm to Mochi trios)
-learned that even guy friends open doors for their friends that are girls
-head to the apartment
-settle in
-macbook time with sheena and jenna
-call it a night

thursday:
-wake up at 11am
-realize sheena didn't go to class
-laptop it for a good hour or so
-watch sheena cook fried rice, eggs, and spam... gotta love it
-talked about stuuuuuff
-took a shower, separately
-picked up jenna
-ate at stanford's, got a mojito and a burger
-met up with jeremy
-did a bit of grocery shopping
-back the apartment
-baked choc. chip cookies
-cupcakes (king got his crown)
-discussion session in the living room: "what would your top 5 sex songs be?"
-gummi bears and milk... no bueno
-youtube
-rest up for snowboarding tomorrow

friday:

-woke up @ 645am
-headed to stevens pass @ 730am
-brought back the 1996 through 2002 hits
-got to the mountain/resort @ 930am
-had a mean session.... yes, i said "mean session"
-headed home at 330pm
-chilled at the apartment
-macbook time
-love/relationship discussion in the living room
-shower
-nap
-get ready to go out
-chicken bakes!
-ready by 9:30pm
-head to venom
-meet up with jay, andrea, and ricky
-group up at a booth... sam,andrew,joey,noel,jeremy,mike, and marc.
-break off to be broken off
-time out sessions like crazy
-head back to the apartment
-knock out around 3am or 4am

saturday:
-wake up around 11ish
-get ready and pack to go to canada
-reserve another room
-run a few errands.. gas, cash, BK
-pick up david
-head on up to CANADA!
-bust an r&b hot music list
-starts snowing on the freeway
-bumper to bumper to get passed the border
-get questioned by a guard that looks 15 years old
-pass the border.. woo hoo!
-get to vancouver
-get our rooms
-sushi!!! again
-get ready
-pregame it...jenna,janelle,sheena,david,marc,joey,philip,drew!
-taxi to atlantis
-back in the DAAAAY music w/ DJ Frisk
-dance, dance, dance
-boston? hahahaha
-back to the room with the girls and david

-get ready to head back to seattle

monday:

-got up and got ready
-headed out to seattle
-girl talk.... GIRL TALK
-got to the airport only to say farewell to my love,sheena.
-bought a book entitled "don't get lucky, get smart"
-read
-boarded the plane
-got to sacramento
-switched planes
-wished i was going to las vegas because that's where that plane was ending up at
-got to lax
-my bags/luggage didn't come in until an hour later
-good ol' in-n-out with sister and secret
-headed home
-fell asleep for WORK the next day!



doesn't sound exciting... but OH, it WAS. i left out the good jokes and experiences.
