Cause they were saying "put your pens down and sit down on the seats". Damn, did we play like this when we were this little? Oh how time flew!!!

What not having siblings does to kids

This little girl was wildin' out with some dance moves on the basketball court pole. I'm not sure if you guys can see her but little beezy has one hand on the pole and is swinging. Smh. She was doing other stuff like the robot and mind you school is out and no one else was on the blacktop. This defines "dance like nob ody's watching".

So what was I doing here? Hey hey hey! I'm not a creeper! I had just parked at one of my middle school sites for a 5pm meeting and was checking my phone.

i was thinking about this word while i was in traffic today from work to school. i totally forgot about a presentation i asked to present for the ad club tonight. no worries though, it's probably gonna be quick anyway. i need to talk about the T. Howard foundation and the upcoming deadline to apply for next summer. (so, it doesn't matter what major you are or what degree you're getting, the multimedia & entertainment industry is interested in you! go to www.t-howard.org! the deadline is december 31,2008!...you like my plug?)

back on topic. from a single female perspective: we put this big, bad, tough head on our shoulders of what we want in life, love, and our pursuit of happiness. well, at least for those who have an idea of what they want or goal in life. so in this blog entry, i'll really be referring to relationships. hah! such a chick thing to talk about. who cares, right? but ya know... females think about this a lot, whether or not they like to. cause our feelings are more sensitive to us than they are to men.

as i was saying, we put this big, bad head on our shoulders like no guy is worth our time and if he is he has to prove it somehow, some way. this idea of putting such effort into some type of relationship beyond just a friendship has set some sort of a double standard. so, i'll say this:

-there are some females who believe they should live up to being the damsel in distress and some MAGICAL day their prince charming will bump into them at the grocery store. he'll open the doors, ask her out properly, wait a couple of dates in order to take it elsewhere (if ya know what i mean), start going to family parties, and do routine buddy-buddy activities (e.g. movies, zoo, concerts which then turn into just killin' time together by running errands). yadda yadda. you should be catching my drift by now.

-there are some females who get wrapped up in focusing on school or work that they never fall into the cracks of getting caught up in the lovey dovey fairytale or relationships and ever afters. (and i applaud this group for their major focus; but damn release some tension). but then they end up being newbies to relationships when they're done with school or get tired of work. (you can add on to this description of females if you feel the need to...i'm letting you)

-there are the head-strong females who balance both. they make time for school, work, and a possible prospect(s) or maybe no prospects at all. but in this case, we'll say she dates. meets guys, with a friendship in mind and a few come around to take it a little further into getting to know her. she has an idea of what she wants in a guy: gentleman, great personality, fun,

hahahaha. the title just sounds so wrong. hahahaha. i can't say too much detail in this, because i just can't. but i am giggling so baaaad from this weekend.

i went to vegas to meet up some oldie but goodie friends. jameal flew in from louisville; jay and andrea flew in from seattle; amy and ashley flew in from long beach; britt and chris drove in from riverside; ricky and his friends drove in from moreno valley; and i, of course, drove in from fullerton right after my midterm at 9am like a freakin' CHAMP. it was ricky's first time in vegas being 21 and, i think, (jay tell me if i'm wrong) but jay's and andrea's first too. =) i also got to see familiar faces and some interesting, new ones... (long pause) ANYWAYS, it was fun. good times, guys!

also, i think it took this weekend to realize that i am officially a blackberry addict. yes, i must admit this. all of the guys were getting mad at the fact that i was on my phone the majority of the time that i was there, but what's funny is that the girls didn't care one bit. so HAH! guys, you were just jealous i wasn't paying attention to y'all. (evil eye). i was there though! geez. appreciate!

you know, when you come across interesting and entertaining conversations.. you can't help but be hooked on it like it's a game. and, in this case, it was the most entertaining game that i've played in a long time... or, maybe, at all. not "the" ultimate one; but definitely one that i enjoyed. it might even just be left at that. and if so, (shrugging shoulders) i just gotta keep it moving. but if it's something else, well then HEEEYYYY! hah! i need to stop. K.I.M. all day, baby!

playing catch up

I was in vegas all weekend (from friday @ 2pm til sunday) and I missed my sister/roommate. Throughout the week, we're both busy to the point where when I get home she's either knocked out already or I'm too tired and knock out myself. Anyways, anybody who knows me and my sisters know that we can talk for DAYS. well, at least erica. haha, val and i keep it to a minimum. but, we're each others' ventilation system about pretty much anything in our lives. so anyways, i took her to yogurtland versus getting starbucks and we sit and play catch up with our lives. and well, as you can tell in the picture, we were both on our phones and not talking to each other. haha. but anyways, "hi my name is stephanie and i'm a crackberry addict". class, work, class tomorrow. fun...

Ohhh, long beach!

Long beach gets down, do you? I'm sitting here at a small table waiting for my friend to fly in. He needed a ride home and I was able to help. Although, he told me 6 and it is now 6:36pm. Maybe he didn't know or they switched it up on him. The next flight coming in from the bay doesn't come in until 7:19pm. Soooo, I guess I'll wait until then to confirm when I should leave. I mean, I'm not that far from the long beach airport if he hits me up later. I'm just trying not to exceed that 2 hour max. Short term parking. Know what I mean? Airports these days... Smh.

And smh to this guy who's on his phone with his "sweetheart". (Please say that in a new york accent because he is). He's super short too. I can take him. One of those guys with a nice voice and accent, but you look at him and its like "ya gotta be kiddin' me". He calls his girl "ma". Cute, I guess. But one thing I've learned is that grown men call many females sweet names whether they're girlfriends or girl friends. There's a difference. Yes, there is. Space or no space; differentiate. Names: ma, babe, or beb, sweetie, hun, cutie, etc. However, "baby" is different. I think.
